Kyle passed his fourth acturial exam! It was funny when he told me because I had almost forgotten all about it being the day that the results came out. All the sudden Kyle was like"guess what, Kelly? I passed my exam!" Sure enough his number, #55012, was up on the results page of the computer. He had a big smile on his face. I'm soooo very proud of him. Some of you are probably thinking "big deal, so he passed a test". You have NO idea! These tests are insanely hard and require tons of studying and preperation. They suggest that you study 100 hours/every hour of test. So, if the test is three hours long you should study for 300 hours. This isn't easy when you're in school, have a job, and a wife to spend time with. Kyle gets up way early to study for these exams and usually spends a couple of hours at night studying too. So, yeah it is a big deal! They're very important for him to move up in his career. Not only that, but I know that he really feels a sense of accomplishment when he passes these exams. I try my hardest to be supportive and helpful around test time so that he can do what he needs to do. I get better with every exam. I can't imagine what this next one will be like. I think it is a 4 or 5 hour long exam (400-500 hours of studying) and we'll have a baby and hopefully a new house. Thank goodness that his job gives their acturial employees some paid study time during the week.
Also, for those of you who don't know...Kyle graduated from Purdue in Decemeber. He has degrees in Statistics and Acturial Science. He graduated with a big fat 4.0! Yeah, that is my hubby, Mr. Smarty Pants! He is now working full time (with benefits and all that other good stuff) at Lafayette Life Insurance Company as an acturial analysist. I'm so so proud to call him mine. He has worked super hard the last 4 years and deserves so much for it. Thank you babe! I know you do it for me and our future family.
