Why all the sudden is my baby being very difficult about things? A few days ago he decided that he was no longer going to take his pacifer and that it is better served as a chew toy? I can't get him to take any pacifer. This used to be how I got him to calm down enough to fall asleep. SLEEP...don't even get me started! Last night I got up 5 times! Yesterday he woke up at 5:15 am and refused (just wanted to play) to go back to bed until 8:30. I'm so exhausted. We tried crying it out for 4 days. It didn't improve at all so now I just get up with him. He refused to take his regular morning nap this morning which is when I get an extra hour of shut eye. I finally got him to sleep by swinging on the porch swing. It didn't take long for him to pass out.
Well I just want to give up. I think it is time to start trying some new things. Some girls at church were talking about this book..."Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child". I'm going to go buy it. I guess it is supposed to be really good. I am also going to buy a CD player for this room. My mom gave me a CD of lullibies. He loves to be sung to, so why not? Anything is worth a shot right now.
I need a break.
I need some sleep.
I feel like I'm doing everything wrong.

Lily went through all kinds of phases like that too. It seemed like every time we figured out a routine that worked, she changed on us. Every kid is different, of course, so I don't know whether Lily's experience is normal at all, but you can't feel like YOU are doing something wrong- Leo is just growing so fast that his needs and wants evolve with him.
Just a suggestion, but I know when Mia used her paci as a chew toy she was teething. She also would wake in the middle of then night ready to play and I couldn't get her to fall asleep and then she bit me.... a light went on and I realized her teeth hurt. A little tylenol and 20 minutes later she was asleep. It may not be that, but wanted to throw in the suggestion. We also play music when Mia goes to bed. The seminary video soundtracks work really well.
Good luck! Leon is a cutie.
